Beeston Hill and Holbeck
No matter how big or small the project is our expertise and enthusiasm will ensure we exceed your expectation.
We are MHA Architects
An extensive competition winning project for the regeneration of the Beeston Hill, Holbeck and Little London areas of Leeds; the project is funded through a PFI.
MHA Architects acted as the Lead Design Consultant for Keepmoat. The project involved the creation of 388 new homes over 10 sites and the refurbishment of almost 1300 existing dwellings including houses, maisonettes, a community centre and 7 high-rise blocks of flats.
There was a complex and demanding programme with tight deadlines. Each area provided its own challenges, with Little London providing a large city centre fringe site and community facilities and the Beeston Hill and Holbeck area being composed of nine sites, some of which are quite large and others which are infill within the existing urban context.
The team was tasked with developing a masterplan for both areas within the existing development framework laid down by Leeds City Council, this was to take into consideration all elements of the brief before producing detailed proposals for individual sites.
