An appointment by Shropshire Council to replace their existing run down facilities. The scheme comprises a six lane 25m long swimming pool and learner pool with associated changing facilities; four court sports hall; activity hall; fitness gym; café and administrative facilities.
The building sits within parkland and was built with the option to incorporate football pitches, a BMX park and a landscape trim trail and a later date.
The layout of the building was configured to allow the areas which require natural day light to be arranged on the more public Western side of the building, offering more interest and providing interaction between people inside the building. This scheme also incorporates solar panels and a CHP plant.
